Amman, December 26 – The Financial and Economic Committee in the Senate, chaired by Senator Dr. Rajai Al-Mashar, held a meeting today, Thursday, with Minister of Finance Dr. Abdel-Hakim Al-Shbeli to discuss the government’s public financial policy.

Al-Mashar stated that the meeting was aimed at reviewing the government’s financial policy and its alignment with the directives outlined in the Royal Letter of Assignment. The committee also discussed the progress of the economic modernization program and provided an update on the ongoing periodic reviews with the International Monetary Fund and the economic reform program.

In turn, Minister Al-Shbeli explained that the financial policy being followed is consistent with the approaches of previous governments and the Royal Letter of Assignment, aiming to achieve financial stability, growth, and control over national debt. He emphasized that efforts are continuing to achieve the financial reforms outlined in the Economic Modernization Vision and the Economic Reform Program.

The meeting was attended by the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Finance, Salem Al-Qudah; Director-General of Income and Sales Tax, Hussam Abu Ali; Director-General of the General Budget Department, Majdi Al-Shariki; Director-General of the Government Procurement Department, Hanadi Al-Nabulsi; Director-General of the Department of Lands, Ahmed Al-Amoosh; and Acting Director-General of the General Customs Department, Ahmed Al-Akalyk.
